
it's not my forte, NICO will have the lowdown (especially on a neighboring island, FOLLY BEACH). Still, in my research of Kiawah, note the following lowdown from
SURFLINE. "These are exclusive residential/resort beaches to the south of Charleston. Kiawah can get good surf on north and northeast swells, particularly at Sandy Point on the north end of the island. The south end of the island, particularly Seabrook, can occasionally be blocked from southeasterly swells by offshore sandbars, from outflow from the North Edisto River and from northeast swells by Sandy Point." Best Swell Direction:All directions. E hurricane and NE wind/groundswell can have lots of power.
Best Size: 3 to 10 feet
Best Wind:SE, E or NE will give wind waves and chop. W for rapidly cleaning but dropping conditions. Perfect-O-Meter:
2 to 5 (1=Lake Erie; 10=Jeffreys Bay)
Bottom: sand and some oyster shells

Private developments with little access. Surf anywhere if you're staying here, though. You can get onto Kiawahs' beach at Beachwalker County Park.
