kate's perfect CHARLESTON day...

(don't worry, nick's perfect day to follow).

If you are staying in Chaz on Thursday night...

Jump off the plane + roll into town. Lunch @ S.N.O.B. (Slightly North of Broad) with a glass of Cava + light Ahi Tuna salad. Check into the Planters Inn

or Charleston Place. Walk around the square and stroll into the old cemeteries bearing the bones of Civil War Era folks (i.e., John Calhoun). Snake your way onto the old Cobblestone streets and check out the amazing homes, peeking into the famous secret gardens along the way.

A sunset sip of wine or a cold beer at the Vendue Inn.Dinner at Peninsula Grill or McGradys. If you are in a fun mood, take a Ghost Tour (or just listen to one in passing).

Bedtime at your leisure (look out for the ghosts).
Morning is brunch at Hominy Grill and off to KIAWAH.

If you arrive on Friday...

Lunch at S.N.O.B. or Jestine's Kitchen for the down home meal of fried green tomatoes, chicken + sweet tea. Quick post-lunch stroll around Rainbow Row or a drive around the bumpy cobblestone roads...Off to KIAWAH.

OR ...just land + off to Kiawah for a beachside lunch @ the Sanctuary.

Rosanne and I will check all of these spots out. Rosanne has booked her ticket and I plan to book mine this week. We will fly in town the Saturday before the wedding and leave that Sunday week, so we will follow your advice on a day or two in Charleston. We have narrowed our rental houses down to a couple and should confirm in the next couple of days where we will stay in Kiawah. Rosa's twin and family (Joanne, Steve and Gabrielle) as well as our good friends (Shannon, Glenn and their son Chase) will be spending the week with us. Anyone else making a long vacation of the trip and going to be down there for a full week?
